Reopening Plan of Action - Updated 10th June

Hello! We hope you're all well during these tough and trying times for all. As we head towards the light at the end of the tunnel on reopening, we thought it was best to get in touch to let you know where we're at with our tentative action plan.

Dates of note -

  • 1st July - Sports Centre management will return to the office to start the ball rolling on the reopening strategy.

  • 4th July - We plan to open our outdoor facilities for an open morning to test the water. Opening hours tbc.

  • 5th July - Closed

  • 6th - 10th July - Likely to be open for periods during the day - Details tbc.

  • 11th July - Open morning - Outdoor facilities

  • 12th July  - Closed

  • 13th July - At this stage, we hoping will be able to reopen back to a more normal schedule, although it's currently unclear whether we will be able to open indoor facilities. Further details will be sent out nearer the time.

One things for sure, we don't want to 'jump the gun', so if it's not safe to reopen as per the details above, the dates may be subject to change. We are closely following the guidelines of the major sporting governing bodies for information on what we can & cannot do.

Social Distancing & Cleaning

Upon reopening, social distancing will be need to be adhered to at all times. We will also be implementing an increased cleaning schedule.

Block Bookings 2020/21

Due to the current circumstances, there has been a delay in our normal block booking renewal process, which usually commences at the start of June. This year, the process will start in July once the management staff are back to their normal office hours.

Questions & Enquiries

The Sports Centre management remain on furlough until 30th June, so any enquiries will be dealt with in due course once they return to work in July. If your enquiry is urgent, please contact Isabel Peat - ipeat@rossettschool.co.uk.

Further information will be released in due course & we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Keep Safe, Team RSC

Update - 28th May 2020

Ref : Full Closure Remains in Place

All Sports Centre will remain closed until further notice. We expect there will be further updates from the government over the coming weeks about when and how leisure/sports facilities may re-open in some capacity.

We're also keeping a close eye on the guidance of the main sporting governing bodies and will be using this to help guide us towards safely reopening the facilities.

Keep safe and we'll further update you in due course.

Team RSC.

Closure Update - 31st March 2020

Ref: Furlough Leave

As per government guidelines, the sports centre will continue to remain closed until further notice. Further to this, from Tuesday 1st April 2020 the sports centre management team are being put on furlough leave to preserve their jobs. This means they will no longer be working behind the scenes from home. During this period most channels of communication will cease, this includes emails & social media. Our website will continue to be sporadically updated throughout the closure. The situation will be continually monitored and as soon as we get an indication on re-opening, we will update you accordingly.

Just a reminder that there will be no charge for any booking within the closure period and credits will be returned to customer accounts for any pre-paid bookings.

We understand this is a very difficult period for everyone, but we strongly encourage you to self isolate at home, so you can return & enjoy our facilities with your friends, families and teammates soon.

It's also a difficult period for businesses, so if you're in a position to support us during the closure, please take a look at our discounted facility credits, which can be purchased online. All credits are valid from when we re-open until 30/4/2021. Any support is very much appreciated.

Keep safe, stay at home and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

All the best,

Josh Lyon, Rebecca Wilson and the rest of the team.

If you urgently need to get in touch during the closure, please contact Isabel Peat

Update - 23rd March 2020

Further to the information published on 17/3/20, the Sports Centre will now remain closed until further notice. Customer and staff safety is of paramount importance to us and we will therefore only re-open when the Government have relaxed the closure rules and it is safe to do so.

During this period we request that everyone stays at home and social distancing guidelines are followed, as implemented by the Government. If we all abide by the rules, the spread should be minimised and we'll be able to open our doors again in the near future.

DISCOUNTED FACILITIES

We are currently working behind the scenes creating discounted facility packages that you can purchase online during our closure for use when we're back open. This is obviously a very difficult time for businesses and your support during the closure would be greatly appreciated.

Watch this space! These offers will be released shortly via email & on our website/social media platforms.

Current Bookings

We are amending the booking system on a weekly basis, so if you have a booking with us during the closure, the following information applies

  • There will be no charge for any block bookings throughout this period and your booking will remain in place upon re-opening.
  • Credits will be returned to customer accounts for pre-paid online bookings.
  • All 'to pay' bookings will be removed from the system and there will be no charge.

Update - Tuesday 17th March

FULL SPORTS CENTRE CLOSURE - CURRENTLY 17/3 - 29/3.

Dear Customer,

Ref: Sports Centre Closure

Following the governments advice yesterday relating to non-essential travel, social contact & gatherings. We have now taken the tough decision to close the Sports Centre with immediate effect.

Public & staff safety is of paramount importance to us and this decision has been reached through the government & advisory notices of all major sporting governing bodies, not to participate in training, matches, tournaments & recreational sport in a bid to contain the spread of Coronavirus.

The closure will currently be in place from Tuesday 17th March 2020 and run until Sunday 29th March 2020, with the aim to re-open on Monday 30th March 2020. This closure will be continually reviewed throughout, as more information and advice is issued from the government and sporting governing bodies. Should we feel it necessary to extend the closure beyond 29th March, we will advise customers via email, update our social media platforms and website.

If you currently have a booking with us, the following information applies

  • There will be no charge for any block bookings throughout this period and your booking will remain in place upon re-opening.
  • Credits will be returned to customer accounts for pre-paid online bookings. Please allow 48hrs for these to show.
  • All 'to pay' bookings will be removed from the system and there will be no charge.

Updates throughout this closure will be published on the following platforms –

During this closure period, Rebecca (deputy manager) and I will be working from home. If you need to contact us, please do so via email – jlyon@rossettschool.co.uk / rwilson@rossettschool.co.uk

Keep safe and we look forward to welcoming you back.

All the best,

Josh Lyon

Centre Manager
Rossett Sports Centre

Update - Friday 13th March

As it stands we are continuing to operate the Sports Centre as normal, but are keeping a close eye on Government guidelines.

We are advising customers to minimise human to human contact and to regularly wash their hands whilst on site. Especially after handling any equipment. There is a hand sanitiser dispenser in our main reception and plenty of hand soap in our toilet areas.

Cleaning of the Sports Centre is continuing as normal and includes door handles, hand rails etc.

If you are feeling unwell or showing the key signs and symptoms of coronavirus, we request that you don't come onto site until you're a few days clear of any symptoms.

Forced Closure

Through Government advice, it may get to point where we need to close the Centre for a period of time. We have an action plan in place for this eventuality, which includes -

  • Block booking customers will be contact by email.
    • All facility charges will be removed for the closure period.
  • Casual bookings will be contacted by phone/email.
    • Bookings will be cancelled & charges will be removed from accounts for the closure period.
    • Credits will be returned to customers accounts for pre-paid online bookings.
  • Updates will be published on social media & our website throughout the closure.
